The accoustic group Eyuser was inspired by local musicians, the late Arnold Clemens and Sam Kapisa who founded Mambesak Group in 1975-1984. Eyuser intends to preserve local Papuan music from the erosion of modern sounds. It was founded in 2003 by a group of young Papuans. Their mission is to infuse local Papuan music with modern sounds while still preserving the charcteristic Papuan sounds through the use of local musical instruments. The name itself it a combination of local words which means “Following the footsteps of the elders in singing and making music”. So far, Eyuser has produced two albums, one in cassette form in 2007 and the other one in CD form in 2011. The albums are widely distributed all over Papua
