Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri is a vocational high school in Bandung, West Java, where students are taught various kinds of performing arts such as dancing, music and play acting. 12 students represent their school by performing “Kembang Tablo” choreographed by Elly Laelasari. The dancers were trained by Novi Haryani.

Kembang Tablo is a modern creation from West Java with elements of the traditional “Jaipong Dance” a an integral part. A special effect has been added which is caused by the dancers carrying the hand-made umbrellas “Payung Tasik” from Tasikmalaya, thus creating an image of delicate flowers. Dynamic movements interchange with the smooth rhythm of the traditional Jaipong..
